Lean Maple Turkey Breakfast Patties
I looove a good breakfast sandwich, but regular pork-based sausage patties are way too fatty. These lean, high protein, big flavour turkey sausage patties are easy to make and so dang good!
Brass & Oak via Gemini
INGREDIENTS
1 lb ground turkey (raw)
1/2 diced onion, seasoned and sauteed
1 tbsp BTB beef base (reduced sodium)
1/2 tsp salt (less if BTB is full salt)
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp maple syrup or coconut sugar
10-15 drops maple flavour (lends that classic breakfast flare!)
5 drops liquid smoke (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Thoroughly mix all ingredients in a large bowl. (I find it easiest to mix by hand with a glove.)
Divide the mixtures into roughly eight 2oz balls.
Flatten the balls into thin patties.
Fry on medium heat till each side has browned and patties are cooked through.
Enjoy these patties on English muffins with a slice of gouda, scrambled egg, arugula, and siracha mayo; or alongside some corn griddle cakes!
